Promotion takes place all the time, but involvement with schools and churches actively
pursued to raise awareness and profile, by arranging talks/ powerpoint presentations
to various organisations such as rotary club, guides, scouts and Mothers Union.
TVT displays a tree decorated with items such as pencils and notebooks that are
sent out to Tanzania. Trees are displayed at the annual December tree festival in
Hathern parish church to raise funds for the church and is an opportunity for
participants to raise awareness for charities or businesses. Hathern primary school
is linked with Mgutwa Sec & High school.
Events in UK for fundraising include a sponsored walk at East Midlands Airport (EMA),
giving talks and presentations to help raise funds, raising awareness at the Long
Whatton village show, coffee mornings and by giving radio interviews.
Four outdoor fundraising events for 2012 that have taken place so far were :

Held in the Friendship Centre through ‘Love in Action’ (an All Saints church fund-raising
initiative) at Long Whatton and raised £130.
MUSIC AND DANCE EVENT at WHATTON HOUSE
Performers included Charnwood Clog Dancers, Hathern Concert Band, Shepshed Singers
, Torchwood Appslachian dancers and African Drummers. For photos click here.
Loughborough Market stall (15th September)
Several volunteers manned the stall selling home made cakes, preserves and bric a
brac provided by friends of the charity.
