TheTrueVineTrust (TVT) for Tanzania is a non-governmental, christian-based, non-profit
making charity assisting in the support and development of education, healthcare
and vocational needs in Tanzania.
TVT is dedicated to providing relief to communities living in the drought-ridden
Maasai steppe (Shambarai region) and Arusha area, who are very poor or orphaned.
We support several projects including Mgutwa Secondary and High school and Mirerani
clinic. For information on the different projects go to Projects.
The original project was called the Shambarai project (1999) which was to provide
for drinking water so desperately needed in this area.
From these early days it became obvious that there were many other needs in these
communities. Shambarai project changed its name (2004) to become True Vine Trust
for Tanzania (TVT) Requests were made from local people to TVT for help in hospitals
and schools. Since the first project TVT has become involved with other projects,
the largest of which is the construction of Mgutwa secondary school complex.
Some projects have been completed but there is much more to be done. If you would
like to help with these projects go to the Donate page. Your giving is greatly appreciated;
it is the hope that the next building to be constructed will be the dining hall.
Architectural plans have been drawn up for a multi-purpose hall which will be used
by the whole community for sports, meetings, assemblies, worship, education in
healthcare and literacy for local groups.
Integrated into this building will be a diagnostic and treatment facility (Bethany
There are opportunities to volunteer long or short term with the projects, such

TVT gratefully thank all helpers, prayer partners, donators and sponsors for their
kind and generous support over the last year.
